Other Events
Proceeds from the 24-hour Game go to support the Matt Cook Foundation CARES packages which are presented to young adult in-patients at the Cross Cancer Institute. The packages include an iPad, Beats head phones, iTunes gift cards, a blanket, journal, flashlight, all in a wheeled travel bag. They are intended to help the young patient keep connected to their friends and family as they battle for their lives, something that Matt himself felt was necessary.

The Goal
The coaches of Edges Professional Skating Instruction attempt to play for 24 consecutive hours against the students that are enrolled in the Edges classes. The different ages of players rotate through in their time slots while the Edges coaches see if they can handle the entire 24 hour challenge. Those that manage to endure the entire 24 hours are labelled as "Iron Men".
The final twist in the game is that it ends with sledge hockey that honours Matt's time on the Canadian Men's Team. The sledge game comes as a relief to the coaches' feet, but they now have to use their arms to finish the 24 grueling hours.
